Corrie grew up in northern Manitoba and is proud to say she’s from the Swan River Valley.  Upon arriving in the city, she attended Red River College and attained her Business Administration Diploma.  Her love of all things sparkly led her to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), where she completed the Graduate Gemologist (GG) requirements. Shortly after graduation, she opened Carat & Karat Fine Jewellery, a retail custom design studio.   As the business grew, it became clear that the best way to control all aspects of the final product was to become the manufacturer as well. The perfect team was carefully chosen and Heavy Metal Design Inc. was established in the fall of 2006.  Though Corrie wears many hats, her favourite part of the business is interacting with customers - developing business relationships and friendships which she hopes will last for years to come.
